Here you can read a part of the article “The Locksmith’s Russian Adventure”, written by Lewis Beadle and published in “The LOCKSMITH” (September, 2015).
Lewis Beadle has been working as a Locksmith for most of his life and now acts as a professional consultant to help cylinder and hardware manufacturers understand the importance of producing the right products for their markets.
Lewis Beadle visited Russia in summer, 2015. During his visit he travelled to Vyatskie-Polyany – a town near Kazan, the location for METTEM®’s lock factory, “MECHANICAL FACTORY METTEM”, LLC. He described his impressions of the factory and of METTEM® locks in the article:
I was the first Englishman ever to visit this town and felt like an intrepid explorer as I was met at the factory gate by the management team who treated me to a tour of the manufacturing facilities. I was amazed at the quality, security and size of a standard Russian lock.
Mettem has designed and produced an incredibly unique concept with their ‘Leader’ lock which is based on eight levers throwing four bolts four times.
METTEM®: we are responsible for high quality of our production.
